Well, it is well and truly the festive season- every shop window, every advert and now, smack bang in the middle of Northumberland street, Newcastle. The 2019 Christmas market is here- from pricy £9 noodles to unique Jamaican-themed gifts, the annual market is back and better than ever but what caught my eye the most was the shopper’s style.

I went out to find the most stylish and weather-loving outfits- what surprised me was the willingness of the kind people I photographed. One girl in-particular (8th photo) was the most confident and glowing girl on the streets. Hyped up by her friends, she was the best example of how a good outfit (and a supportive group of friends) can make you feel amazing.

The cold weather was battles by a range of jackets and coats- teddy bear coats, furry leopard coats and a strong appearance of leather coats with fur around the neck. My favourite accessory find was the fur bucket hat. Personally, I am a big fan of 90s retro fashion and I liked how this was adapted for not only 2019- but winter.

‘Christmas is a time of coming together’. One of my favourite things when at the Christmas market was seeing people having a good time together and looking good together. When photographing the couples, I noticed how well their outfits complemented each other which complements the essence of the festive season- gift wrapping, decoration, food!!

Overall, my experience at the Christmas market was brilliant and made me want to go home and watch every Christmas movie ever with a hot chocolate that is obnoxiously overly-decorated but I had to remind myself- it’s still November. Here’s the photos- and let me know what your favourite trends are this winter on Instagram- @tillymaegraham.
